About Me

I’m a human interest and lifestyle feature writer and blogger with hundreds of articles appearing in Newsday, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Saturday Evening Post, Parade.com and many others. In addition, I’m the author/co-author of three non-fiction books.

I’m also the founder/producer of Long Island’s first literary event series, Long Island LitFest.  We bring best-selling authors, celebrities, chefs and other notables to the region for staged readings and talks at various venues.  Long Island LitFest has featured Dave Barry, Dick Cavett, Gail Sheehy, Susan Isaacs, Alan Zweibel, Julie Klam, Henry Alford and many other stellar authors.

I’m based in New York and in a career spanning three decades, am a long-standing member of the Society of Professional Journalists, The Press Club of Long Island and The Authors Guild.

“Claudia is a true professional who’s great at brainstorming ideas, keeping her audience in mind, meeting deadlines, and — best of all — crafting essays and articles that connect with readers.
She has fresh approaches (but is always open to suggestions), a wonderful ear for the language, and handles edits with ease.”

- Alleen Barber, Deputy Editor, Editorial Pages, Newsday

“We have known and worked with Claudia for many years and have always been impressed by her can-do attitude and highly polished professional writing skills. She is a great resource.”

- Jim McCann, Founder 1-800-FLOWERS.COM and Celebrations.com

“I have worked with Claudia professionally for 15 years and in that time I have known her to be a thorough, creative and analytical reporter.  I’d recommend her to anyone who wants to hire a highly competent writer and editor.”
